Midlothian Sure Start (MSS) is a dynamic, award winning voluntary organisation. It offers a quality support service to families with young children across Midlothian. MSS has been in existence since 2001 and employs 49 members of staff providing a service in six family support centres. Our ethos is to provide a holistic, confidential community based service where Project Users are at the heart of the service.
- We are looking for a motivated, fun Family Play Worker to provide a welcoming, safe environment for children under 3 years of age at:
Hand in Hand, Woodburn - (16 hrs per week)
Salary £13,956 - £15,873 (pro rata) + Pension
A relevant qualification is essential e.g. NNEB, HNC, SVQ3 in child care is required as is a sound knowledge of child development. An important part of this post is helping children (on a joint basis with their parents) to meet their developmental milestones and get a ‘Sure Start’ in life. We offer a supportive working environment, which offers a range of training opportunities.
- We are also looking for BANK Relief Play Workers to increase our relief crèche cover list. You would be required to work with children predominantly aged 0-3 yrs. Bank workers are required to cover staff absences (e.g. sick/holiday leave) and additional programmes that are run. Work is available at 6 centres in Midlothian. Hourly rate of £7.67.
The centres are based in Penicuik, Loanhead, Bonnyrigg, Gorebridge, Mayfield and Woodburn.
We are presently looking to fill the position of:
Part-time Administration Assistant (Development of Volunteering in MSS)
8hrs per week over 2 days
2 years funding available
Salary General Grade 2 scale 10 - £15,132 (pro rata) + Pension Based in HO, Bogwood Court, Mayfield.
- Administrative Assistant required for assisting Business Support Manager with the admin tasks related to recruitment, training and placement of volunteers within the organisation. Also liaising with staff and outside agencies.
General education at standard grade, together with a relevant qualification in using Microsoft programmes. Previous experience of office systems and procedures is essential. Word processing and the use of excel is essential. Good communication skills are also essential and the postholder must be capable of dealing effectively with the public.
